Remembering Otis

Had to say goodbye to my only nephew, Otis.

I took a walk to remind me of many, many walks, runs & car rides w his big head in my lap. Who will howl happy birthday or lick my sweaty knees?

Otis was my first big dog. I used to be terrified of them. Otis patiently taught me big dog virtues: his warm back in bed was an instant sleeping pill. watching him forget his size, trying to climb on your lap.

I trained him not to lick my face. He was very smart & very considerate. Reminds me of my dad.

I'll miss his silent companionship.

An incredible doggie presence has left us.

I'm sure he's having a ball playing catch w my dad and chasing squirrels.
